Smart lids save lips! That’s right, this cup lid changes color with the temperature of your beverage by turning red when it’s “too hot” to drink. It also tells you whether the lid is properly sealed by showing a broken rim line where the lid isn’t attached.

Australian company Smart Lid Systems will ship as many as 100 million units this year. Manufactured with a food grade compliant color-changing additive, when cold, the lid is a regular dark (coffee) color. When hot, the lid turns red to remind your customers to be careful. As the drink cools, the color of the lid changes back to the regular coffee color.
