The gdium EM-PC by EMTEC
DUE FOR RELEASE IN AUSTRALIA JULY 2008
The gdium EM-PC by EMTEC is a laptop designed specifically for school students 10 years of age or more. With no internal moving parts, it uses a flash memory based removable storage device as its hard drive, so it is much more durable than typical laptop computers. Featuring a removable GKey, which houses the laptop’s security/authentication, start up (or system boot) data and the Linux based operating system as well as the hard drive and any data previously saved by the user on the GKey, the unique design of the EM-PC offers students/users the option of being able to work anywhere, including a PC in the school computer lab, an internet cafe, the user’s home PC, or the PC of a friend, simply by plugging the EM-PC’s GKey into any PC with a USB 2.0 compatible slot. The gdium EM-PC range also provides users access to gayaplex, an educational portal devised by educationists for school age children.
